Reed Avocados on Christmas Day

The Reed are everyone’s favourite.

We know that at this time of year you need something a bit special and the Reeds are it. So good that they’re ready at this time of year. They are the perfect Christmas show stopper!

How to enjoy your Reed Avocados this Christmas

Here are our favourite ways to enjoy Reeds on Christmas Day..

As an Entree

Avo Stuffed Prawn Cocktail

Ripen up the biggest most beautiful Reeds you can get and serve them up as half an avocado with some delicious prawn cocktail served in them. Or if you’re lucky enough to live somewhere where you can catch your own yabbies, do it like we do and use yabbie tails!

You can use this recipe HERE if you need a guide

Or you can just serve half a Reed avocado with delicious olive oil and some salt and pepper and some sour dough bread. This is how Top Paddock cafe in Melbourne once served them.

With your mains

You can pretty much just add avo to any salad but this year I’m going to do THIS ONE with coz lettuce Merridith Goats Cheese and Granny Smith Apples. It sounds delicious..

In Dessert

Avocado Ice Cream

Or this one for dairy free HERE

Avocados Mousse

The Day after

This is a great salad to use the left over ham with on boxing day…

Something Extra

I also found THIS idea which looks like a bit of fun and THIS looks delicious if you want to go all our! I might give this a go this year!

There are really so many ways to use Reed Avocados this Christmas and we are so excited you can get them from use directly again this year too.
